About the Role & Team
IDC, a global leader in technology market intelligence, is seeking a market researcher to join our team. This role requires a mix of analytical abilities, attention to detail, proficiency in research methodologies, alongside excellent communication skills to convey complex information effectively. The market researcher will play a crucial role in interpreting data, staying abreast of IT market trends and events, supporting their team with in-depth research, and working collaboratively to meet research objectives. The market researcher will play a crucial role in supporting the authorship and delivery of IDC’s market intelligence products and services in a rapidly evolving information technology landscape. The role will focus on utilizing the latest market research methodologies and tools to uncover relevant data from internal and external data sources and synthesizing into market research content assets.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with global teams and internal stakeholders to support Security and Trust domain initiatives.
- Conduct primary and secondary research on IT markets, focusing on security and trust topics.
- Track and analyze IT industry trends, competitive intelligence, and market shifts to identify opportunities and risks.
- Synthesize data into actionable insights and deliver tailored reports, presentations, and content assets.
- Partner with subject matter experts to achieve research goals and produce high-quality deliverables.
- Contribute to written research studies and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and knowledge sharing within the team.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree required; (business, economics, management information systems, technology marketing, product management or related field).
- 2-3 years of experience in market research, consulting, or analysis, ideally in the information technology sector,
- Previous experience in roles such as market intelligence or competitive intelligence is preferred.
- Outstanding written and strong verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with and across teams globally.
- Experience with office productivity tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Some experience with any AI tools such as MS CoPilot, Google Gemini, Perplexity, ChatGPT, or other similar tools.
- A strong interest in the IT market, including, but not limited in topics such as AI and data management, security, enterprise applications, enterprise infrastructure, devices, networking, telecommunications, application development, and services.
- Understanding and interest in the application of information technology to industry use cases.
- Flexibility to work both independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced, global environment.
- Professional fluency in English.

- Strong understanding of the Security and Trust market or related topics.
- Proven experience in the IT industry, ideally with technology vendors, distributors, or in market research/consulting roles.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex market data and identify trends.
- Knowledge of go-to-market strategies, business models, and technology adoption patterns in enterprise IT.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, combined with intellectual curiosity and adaptability.
